The heroine meets her love interest, an accused murderer, when he breaks into her house, looking for evidence to clear his name after being framed by a conspiracy of human traffickers. Whereas thrillers have the crime or event coming, and the main character must stop it beforehand, the mystery has the crime (often a murder) at the start, and the main character must discover who committed the crime, and why.
